Jerome Bechard

About

Jerome Bechard grew up on a farm just outside of Regina, Saskatchewan Canada. He moved away from home when he was 15 years old to play junior hockey in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Jerome was fortunate to get drafted by the Hartford Whalers in 1989. He was 115th overall pick in the sixth round of the NHL draft. He signed with the LA Kings and played two years with their farm team in New Haven, Connecticut. After two years with the LA Kings farm team, Jerome’s hockey career took him to the Birmingham Bulls for four years, before coming to Columbus. In 1996 Jerome began playing for the Columbus Cottonmouths, and later on, began coaching the team. Jerome was a part of the Columbus Cottonmouths organization for 21 years.

As a player, Jerome doesn’t feel that he was blessed with a lot of talent, but what he lacked in playing ability he made up for by being the hardest working player on the ice. It is that work ethic and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done attitude that separated him from every player.

Jerome met the love of his life, Rhonda in high school. They dated for seven years before getting married. Jerome and Rhonda were married in 1993. They have two girls Alex who attends UGA and Kylie who attends Harris County High. Jerome’s family is his rock. They have allowed him to be gone for the better part of six months out of the year for the past 21 years so that he could stay pursue his passion in playing and coaching hockey.

After the Cottonmouths franchise dissolved, Jerome’s love for Columbus and his desire to serve people led him to a career in real estate and he joined Coldwell Banker in 2017.

Over the last 21 years, Jerome has made a name for himself, not only as a fierce competitor but as a genuine individual who has never met stranger and cares deeply for our community and the people here. These characteristics are a tremendous asset to his real estate clients. As a player, Jerome’s motto was “I play for the name on the front of the jersey, not the name on the back.” Jerome continues to use this motto today with his clients. He knows life is truly about how many people’s lives you can have an impact on, big or small.

Buying or selling a house is no small task. Jerome would be honored to coach you through the real estate process and fight for you along the way.
